Biggest Dow ever in Dubai Launched by Al Wasl

DUBAI: A Dubai based Pakistani "Ishrat Ali Khan" launched the biggest Dow ever in the history of UAE, The prided Pakistani has been contributing in tourism industry for a long time, thus launching another project added a valuable contribution in Dubai tourism Industry.

Dhows have been an integral part of Arabs’ lives for centuries, and have now taken on high popularity as floating restaurants in and around Dubai.  The dhows in Dubai, also known as Abra (boat in Arabic), especially in Creek and other adjoining areas, emerge from alterations in existing structures of other sea vessels.  To provide high-end cruise in Dubai evenings, a brand new and purpose-built dhow in Dubai is now being seen as a new attraction in Marina.

Talking to The EMAL International Magazine , Ishrat Ali Khan, the owner of Al Wasl Dhow by Al Wasl Yachts, Asia Pacific Travel and Tourism, and Oasis Palm Tourism, is a prominent excursion provider in Dubai. 

He said that his dhow is unique as this is the first time they constructed a brand new dhow from bottom to top. 

“Usually the existing fleets of dhows in Dubai are either once used as fishing boats or cargo ships.

“After they spend their prime at sea, they are altered as floating restaurants and cruise, floating on break waters. 

“This new Al Wasl Dhow has been built from bottom to top with the needs of the cruise and provide tourists and locals a unique experience of dining in the sea,” he said.


The dhow was launched on Eid as the holidaymakers in Dubai rushed to enjoying the latest inducting with great excitement. 

On the occasion of its inaugural trip, the management arranged a sumptuous dinner with a wide range of Pakistani traditional cuisine including biryani, qurma, live barbecue and such other mouthwatering dishes.

“We are excited to have a dhow which was made in Pakistan cruising along Dubai Marina, giving pleasure to dhow-cruise lovers. 

“The traditional food and ambience on the boat gives us the feeling that we are in our home country and enjoying the true hospitality of Arabs,” said Shiraz Mughal, a Pakistani man who attended the inaugural trip.  
There are a number of dhows travelling along the Creek and Marina, providing commuters with the experience of a sea safari and dining with a wide range of capacities. The new addition to Marina is one of the biggest with a capacity of over 200 people. 



“Al Wasl Dhow is the first five-star dining dhow which is the perfect match for Dubai Marina. Combining classiness and modern facilities, it is an ideal venue for wedding parties, family get together and business events. 
“It is operated on a daily basis in the evening for those who love to enjoy the skyscrapers around Marina,” he mentioned. 

The dhow was made by 45 professionals of different fields related to boat-making in the area of Karachi known for a number of harbor activities, Keamari. The area also houses hundreds of ships in every size which are used for fishing and sea safaris by Karachiites everyday for a long time.
